Information

On August 20th, the world's first rotor sail system retrofitting turnkey project “Camellia Dream” undertaken by Greentec was officially put into operation and marked its first call at Ponta da Madeira, Brazil. This project is not only the first case of horizontal lifting to install 35 meters high titling type rotor sails in China, but also the world's first case of installing rotor sails on a Newcastle-type bulk carrier. The successful delivery of this project fully demonstrates Greentec's turnkey capabilities and sets a new benchmark for green shipping.

During the implementation of the project, Greentec demonstrated excellent design capabilities and efficient management capabilities, realizing many zero breakthroughs. During the design phase, Greentec’s technical team engaged extensively with all parties, making multiple revisions to ensure precise design in every detail, particularly in ship stability, strength analysis, load distribution, and operational adaptability, thorough research accumulated valuable experience for subsequent wind-assisted propulsion system projects. Additionally, Greentec’s technical team actively participated in HAZID risk assessments, providing robust support for safety-related aspects of the project’s implementation.

During the rotor sails manufacturing phase, Greentec dispatched an experienced senior project manager to supervise the process on-site. By strictly controlling product quality and facilitating timely information exchange and technical coordination, the efficient production of the rotor sails was ensured, guaranteeing on-time delivery of the product.

During the installation phase, faced with the variable weather conditions, Greentec team demonstrated strong project management capabilities by developing detailed plans, rigorously controlling construction quality and progress, optimizing installation procedures, and pre-assembling the deck pedestal and equipment foundation for simultaneous installation, ensuring the entire installation process was efficient and orderly. Considering the special delivery form of the equipment and the actual situation of the shipyard, Greentec team implemented the first-ever horizontal lifting installation scheme, precise mounting of 100 holes in rotor sails and pedestal, ensuring the efficient and orderly of the entire installation process.

The successful retrofitting of “Camellia Dream”  with a rotor sail system, combined with voyage optimization technology, is expected to achieve up to 10% fuel savings, significantly enhancing her CII rating. It provides an efficient energy solution for the green and low-carbon transformation of the shipping industry. With the project successfully delivered on schedule, Greentec’s professionalism and collaborative efforts have earned high praise from the shipowner, shipyard, and all partners involved.

As a pioneer in green maritime technology, Greentec consistently adheres to technology innovation as its driving force, actively meeting diverse demands from shipowners. Greentec has successfully implemented multiple green EPC projects in collaboration with renowned shipowners, covering wind-assisted propulsion systems, shaft generator systems, air lubrication systems, hydrodynamic systems, and etc. Looking ahead, Greentec will steadfastly uphold its corporate mission of "Green Our Sea by Technology," continue to deepen green technology innovation, contribute to the global shipping industry’s green transformation, and jointly create a cleaner, sustainable era of marine transportation.
