On June 29, 2018, Greentec attended a meeting about 2020 sulphur cap organized by BIMCO and Transport Commission of Shenzhen Municipality in Shenzhen. The participants are mainly international organizations and associations, maritime regulators, shipping companies, marine fuel suppliers, classification society, and equipment supplier and ship design institute, etc..

According to the IMO route map, the 0.5% cap on sulphur emissions for global merchant ships will be implemented on January 1, 2020. However, how to deal with this challenge is currently unclear. For ship owners, whether to use low-sulphur fuel or install a exhaust gas cleaning system, or use other alternative fuels (such as LNG, etc.) is not very clear, and there is no corresponding admittance criteria. In meeting’s Session Ⅲ regarding how shipyards and equipment suppliers gear in the tide, our representative Neil Ju made a speech on Total solution for EGSC, and gained lots of positive responses from ship owners afterwards.

Furthermore, our engineering manager Neil representing Greentec, also attended Taiwan Maritime Forum 2018 which also centered on desulfurization solutions on 6th July.
